Surpassing the Ordinary

Breath of Fresh Air for Westerville Home

Remodel picture collageEpic Building Company recently completed a home renovation for a client that purchased a 100-year old house in the outskirts of Westerville Ohio. Major requested improvements ranged from structural and electrical fixes to some substantial updating of the kitchen, bathroom, and exterior doors. These clients are new homeowners and had heard many horror stories about unreliable and sub-par contractors. They heard about Epic Building Company (EBC) from a friend that recently had their older home renovated by EBC. Our clients note that “Because they came recommended we had some confidence going in, but [EBC] still wildly exceeded our expectations. Working with Epic Building Company was the best decision we could have made; we are 100% satisfied with their services and skill.”

Andy Kolp, owner of EBC, worked with the clients to help them design their perfect home renovation.  “He listened to our desires and easily transformed those into a workable project, all while being communicative and transparent about costs, timeframe, and options. He never pressured us into services or products that we couldn’t afford.” Andy and the EBC team communicated with the clients via CoConstruct, a project management platform EBC uses to post and sort messages, files and pictures to communicate and collaborate with clients on their projects. “All of our questions and decisions about specifications and selections were also sorted on CoConstruct by individual projects (e.g., bathroom, kitchen, basement), so it made it easy and efficient for us to coordinate with Andy about the details as things progressed.”

“The entire process had literally no delays once it was handed over to [Andy] and his team.  (Again, this was really impressive, particularly considering how often we heard from friends or neighbors about weeks- or even months-long postponements or unexplained no-shows by contractors or subcontractors. And it was most appreciated seeing as how we were expecting our first baby in the early summer of 2017.)”

Andy oversaw the project but Jeff Frank, EBC’s project manager worked directly with the clients and in the house, completing many of the remodel jobs such as the carpentry, and flooring, tile and cabinet installation. EBC coordinated the rest of the subcontractors for the project as well. “Because our home is an older one, Jeff and the rest of the [EBC team] had to make a lot of adjustments and adapt to the quirks that have cropped up over 100 years—nothing in the house started out as level–but even the detail work in our home looks absolutely beautiful.”

It is EBC’s belief to “Surpass the Ordinary” as a home builder and contractor, for example in the review for this home renovation it was mentioned that one of EBC’s team members “saved [the clients] a few times when this was not at all a requirement of his job”.  Our team member assisted with appliance installations during the remodel project,  which was unrelated to EBC’s remodel work and were to be installed by a third party. “We understand that remodeling and renovation work is an inconvenience to our customers daily lifestyle.  Our intention is streamline the process and schedule, make the experience smooth and easy for our clients, and provide an end result that exceeds our client’s expectations.” ~Andy Kolp, President, Epic Building Company

“To sum up, we are thrilled with the work that Epic Building Company did. We recommend them with absolutely no reservations; thanks to Andy, Jeff, and all the other fantastic people who helped turn our new house into our home!”
